Feeding Guidelines

Begin feeding Butcher’s Best™ Puppy Food at 3 to 4 weeks of age or as soon as your puppy begins chewing on solid foods. Combine 1½ cups of Butcher’s Best™ Puppy Food with 1 cup of warm water. Mix until well moistened and soft. Allow your puppy to eat 4 times a day for about 15 to 20 minutes until he reaches 3 months of age. From 3 to 6 months of age, feed your puppy all he will eat 3 times a day. From 6 months to a year, gradually reduce feedings to a single daily feeding. Use the chart above as a guide. Pregnant and lactating dogs require 2 to 3 times as much food as adult requirements. Remember, these amounts are averages and will vary depending upon the breed and size of your puppy. Butcher’s Best™ Puppy Food may be fed dry or moistened. When switching to a new food gradually increase the new food and decrease the old food over a 7 to 10 day period until you are completely feeding the new food. Have clean fresh water available at all times.
